What’s that you say? Your game of Blades in the Dark is not grotesque and horrible enough? I’m here to help.
The infernalist is to demons what the whisper is to ghosts.

I went ahead and added it to this post so there’s no need to adjust the pin. All four of these are drafts that I am sure need some polish and love, but they are initial thinking.

I could totally see my Leviathan-music-listening rogue taking some of these moves at some point. Keel: “You know, not all demons are that bad. How could anything that makes such wonderous song be evil?”
(All while his HORRIBLE WRITHING BRAND OF DEVOTION warbles, and leviathan music twists against your ears like a drill.)
Yeah, once a character takes “abasement rituals” and “stored power” that’s enough to provoke all right-thinking authorities to convict him of consorting with demons, and being put to death.
Only if he gets caught.
(These are designed for PCs, but work at least as well and maybe better if they inspire NPC motivations and misbehavior.)
Is Infected Kiss supposed to give the Infernalist the power to take a power from a demon as long as the demon chooses to?
Colin Fahrion Demons can transfer powers to others, but Infected Kiss lets it happen WAY faster. This dove-tails with the Demon playbook.
What I’d love to see for a playbook is more of a John Constantine style occultist who uses and abuses demons rather than worships them as a cultist. In fact that’s what I immediately thought of when you wrote “The infernalist is to demons what the whisper is to ghosts” as I see Whispers more in the using and abusing ghosts department.
Sure, exorcist is also a legit option.
I totally made an exorcist, just for you Colin Fahrion =)

Awesome! You are amazingly super prolific!
Excuse me, but doesn’t the Whisper powers work on demons too? Or at least, on spirits in general? Is he able to influence ghosts only?
Nice, tasty class, tho, Sir.
Veeewwy tasty…
There is overlap for both the ones I did and for the whisper. Part of it depends on how you decide demons work, and how broad a variety of demons you have (same with ghosts.)
Are demons incorporeal entities that possess bodies? Sure, sometimes, I suppose. But they are also corporeal threats, some of them take on physical form. It gets into worldbuilding.
Both whispers and exorcists (and infernalists) deal with demons and ghosts, but their focus points are different.
