Hi guys, I kickstarted this game a while back because I really liked the world. I didn’t spend too much time considering I just sort of went with it. Now I checked it out again and thought that I’d like to test the quickplay thingie. I started reading it but found it hard to picture everything because I felt I didn’t really know the world. So my question is, are there some chunks of lore somewhere to be read that I’ve completely missed? Sorry if this has been asked before.

Go to the last page of the FAQ for a listing of faction descriptions. That puts you a big step ahead.

Go to the last few pages of the quickstart, it gives some basic concepts about the world. (Go to the quickstart 2 document, not the most recent one.)
The thing is, Duskwall is intentionally vague in some ways. Go ahead and take your favorite parts of the setting and expand them, make it your own. If you have questions, don’t worry about getting the right answer; get an answer that interests you, and roll with it. =)
You know, John Harper, it might be convenient to link each quickstart version that’s been released to the pinned links. Since they are backer only, link to the backer-only update where they came out.
Thanks a bunch! Looking forward to more sweet, sweet lore though 🙂
I’m not going to link to all the great stuff in the community, but here’s a few links to worldbuilding I’ve done (and can easily find.)

I hope not. I’m going to be bummed if the book comes with too much pre-set lore. 🙂
The full game will be much more broad in content (presenting all sorts of interesting stuff), but not very deep. I like to leave lots of room for players to interpret things at the table.
Sounds awesome 🙂
Really liked the part about the guns, great work!
Also I recommend looking at Ghost Lines if you haven’t already. it’s set in the same worldscape basically as BitD and there is a lot of great fodder in there for stories especially the Rumors and Leads section.
Are Ghost Lines, BitD and AW all set in the same universe or or is GL set in it’s own universe together with BitD?
GL and Blades are the same universe. AW is something very, very different (different world, different game system, different author).
Ok I see, just got really hungry to know more about this whole empire that Duskwall is part of xD
