Question: while building a crew, each player has to assign a positive and one negative tier 1 faction tick: What happens when two different players chose the same faction but assign a + and a – ?

The ticks cancel each other and the faction ends up with 0 status?

  1. …I’d imagine so, but that does seem like a boring, non-proactive move – my house rule would probably be not to override other people’s tick with your own.

  2. I assume the motivation to negate is not have negative status with factions, at cost of having positive status with another. I suppose it’s an option. At the very least I would ask why status with such a faction has see-sawed.

  3. It could lead to some rubble.

When the question came up during our crew creation it was either because the player forgotten that another player assigned a value or that there’s been a disagreement. I could imagine it may as well happen if one thinks a faction status is too positive or too negative.

  4. Working together on the faction ticks is the first thing the group does as a team. It could be a little rocky, but the whole game depends on the group making judgment calls together, so the faction status phase is a simple way to get them started.
