Anyone else thinking this could make an excellent pirate game? A misfit band of swarthy characters trying to make a name for themselves and their crew while steering clear of the authorities and crews that are much stronger than them?
Blades in the Sail? Blades on the High Seas?
If nobody’s cooking up anything piratey, I might have to bite the bullet and figure something out. If somebody IS working on some high seas adventure, I’d love to help!
I was thinking exactly that when watching Black Sails!
A couple other hack ideas:
Rival Wuxu schools
Prison gangs, or perhaps running gangs both inside and outside the prison system.
I figure you could borrow heavily from the upcoming Womb of Night stretch goal.
definitely! pirates seems like a perfect fit.
honestly it seems like pirate crew could just be a crew type
Moon over Bourbon Street looks very similar to a pirate setting.
Alex Pepper this would be cool, eh? 🙂
Dan Hall Indeed. After watching Black Flag, I think a crew could easily be created.
hari capra, that’s because Bourbon St. in general looks like a pirate setting.
I’m thinking Blades could benefit from both a piracy playset in the gritty industrial setting and a full reskin for traditional pirate stories like Black Sails.
I’m really curious to see what piracy is like in the default setting, but I also think Blades could bring some cool planning and crew mechanics to regular pirate adventures that most rpgs lack.
I’m on board. 🙂
Adam Minnie Arrrrr you going to run it?
Actually yes, if I get the time. 🙂
A post here a few days ago was looking for a lighter-themed anime hack, which got me thinking about how much effort it would be to re-skin BitD for One Piece. Well first I thought of Fairy Tail but I like pirates better.
