  1. It’s new but if I were to use board game terminology it has:

    – Levels of success and failure (AW)

    – Action and effect rolls (Sort of like do I do the thing and then how well do I do the thing or avoid the thing being done to me)

    – a push your luck mechanism (I don’t really know where it comes from)

    – a faction ladder system (looks like Fx mechanics but isn’t, and isn’t strings, and isn’t bonds, but is sort of like all those things. plus a hold system but the hold is your hold on your position in the faction ladder),

    – a score mechanic (helps you plan your heists, jobs whatever out in like 2 minutes so you can get to the heist/job.)

    – An advancement system with downtime and projects.

    – A crew system (Build up your crew outside of the PCs)

    Seth isn’t wrong, it’s got some AW DNA in it but its not at all a hack or even modified version of the game. It’s a couple steps beyond that.

  2. The push your luck mechanism developed naturally out of games John Harper ran, as talked about in the question and answer video a few days ago.  A lot of the details of the game world seem to have come about in the same way, as did the world itself.
